Who we are
Pride in Exile (PIE) is a membership organization committed to ensuring equal employment opportunity for LGBTQ+ individuals.
PIE also supports LGBTQ+ individuals across the country who experience employment discrimination and who need to file charges or complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
1) Restoring information and creating access. It is critical for all LGBTQ+ individuals to have information about their employment rights. As federal agencies remove this important information, PIE keeps the information available on its restoration page.
2) Monitoring EEOC actions. PIE is monitoring how the EEOC treats charges and complaints raising claims of LGBTQ+ based discrimination. If you have filed a charge on that basis with the EEOC, or if you are a current or former federal employee who has filed a complaint on that basis, we would like to hear about your experience via prideinexile11@gmail.com.
3) Providing information about legal resources. While PIE does not provide legal advice, PIE provides information about resources for legal action for LGBTQ+ individuals who have experienced discrimination.
4) Fostering community and support. PIE provides moral support and community to LGBTQ+ employees and allies as well as supporting efforts by Pride in Federal Service (PFS) as federal agencies disband their LGBTQ+ employee resource groups (ERGs).
